The Labyrinth is one of the most misunderstood game modes in Whiteout Survival — not because it is hard to enter, but because the troop ratio you bring changes from day to day. Each Labyrinth zone rewards a different stat, the AI defender uses a fixed formation, and the troops you fight with are usually provided at a fixed level, so the ratio you choose is one of the few levers you actually control.

This guide gives you a clean, day-by-day breakdown: which zone is open, what stat it favours, and the recommended troop ratio (Infantry / Lancer / Marksman) for each one.

💡 Naming note: Zone names vary slightly between client versions and translations. Gear Forge is sometimes shown as Dark Forge, Charm Mine as Glowstone Mine, Research Center as Earthlab, and Land of Heroes as Land of the Brave. The strategy below is the same regardless of the label your client uses.

How Labyrinth Troops Work

A few mechanics make the Labyrinth different from normal combat:

Provided troops. In most zones you fight with Level 10 troops supplied by the Labyrinth Explorers, not your own army. That means raw troop quality is fixed — your formation, ratio, and the relevant chief stat decide the outcome.
The AI uses a fixed ratio. The defender deploys a default 33/33/33 (Infantry/Lancer/Marksman) on most stages, shifting to roughly 53/27/20 on the final (10th) stage. Building a ratio that beats an even split is the core of the puzzle.
Gaia Heart is different. On the combined-stat day you typically use your own troops, so bring your strongest standing army composition rather than an experimental ratio.

⚠️ Stats beat ratios. Troop ratio is a tiebreaker, not a miracle. If the relevant chief stat (gear, charms, research, hero level) is far below the stage requirement, no formation will save the run. Upgrade the stat the zone tests before you fine-tune the ratio.

Best Troop Ratio for Every Labyrinth Zone

These are recommended starting ratios. Adjust by ±5–10% based on how the daily stat buffs land for you and whether you are clearing stages or pushing the final boss.

Land of Heroes Troop Ratio

Cave of Monsters Troop Ratio

Cave of Monsters rewards pets and pet skills. The combat profile is similar to Land of Heroes — a heavy Infantry front with Marksman backline — so 55 / 15 / 30 is a reliable starting point. Upgrade the pets covered in the Best Pets Tier List before this day.

Charm Mine Troop Ratio

Charm Mine (Glowstone Mine) tests your Chief Charms. Lean slightly more into Marksman damage with 50 / 15 / 35, keeping enough Infantry to hold the line. The higher your charm levels, the more aggressive (Marksman-heavy) you can go.

Research Center Troop Ratio

Research Center (Earthlab) is driven by your Research Center and War Academy tech. This zone favours a sturdier composition — 60 / 15 / 25 — because strong defensive research lets Infantry tank longer while Marksmen finish. Make sure your combat tech is current via the Research Center Guide.

Gear Forge Troop Ratio

Gaia Heart Troop Ratio

Gaia Heart combines all stats and usually lets you use your own troops. Bring your best overall army rather than an experimental split — a balanced 50 / 20 / 30 attacking ratio is a safe default for most rosters.

General Labyrinth Strategy

Upgrade the stat of the day. The fastest way to climb is to invest in whatever the active zone tests — gear for Gear Forge, charms for Charm Mine, research for Research Center, and so on.
Beat the 33/33/33 AI. Since the defender runs an even split on most stages, a frontline-weighted ratio with a Marksman backline reliably out-trades it.
Save your hardest pushes for buffed days. Daily zone buffs can swing a close fight — time your big attempts when the buff matches your strongest stat.
Don't over-think the ratio. Anything within a few percent of the values above performs almost identically; closing the stat gap matters far more than a perfect formation.
